What is Ag Ed?

 Classroom Instruction:

Agriculture continues to be the largest industry in Ohio and in the United States.  The well being of all mankind and the economy require a productive and efficient agriculture industry. The continuing expanding demand for food and fiber, and concerns about the environment dictate the need for specifically educated and highly skilled entrepreneurs and employees in the agricultural industry.

Every agriculture science student is automatically a member of the National FFA Organization.  The FFA is a dynamic youth organization dedicated to prepare students for premier leadership, personal growth and career success. Local, state and national activities and award programs provide opportunities to apply knowledge and skills acquired through agriculture education.

A Supervised Agricultural Experience Project (SAE) is an actual, hands-on application of concepts and principles learned in the agricultural education classroom. Students are supervised by the instructor in cooperation with parents, employers and other adults who assist them in the development and achievement of their educational and career goals.
